Greater Noida: The 15th edition of Auto Expo, which is considered as a mega advertising campaign of Indian and overseas automobile manufacturers for their new generation, luxury and environment friendly vehicles (cars and other vehicles), concluded on a high note on Wednesday.

The six-day-long flagship motor show witnessed over 6 lakh visitors at the venues to get a glimpse of over 350 products which were displayed from 108 exhibitors.

“Around 70 new new generation (model) vehicles were launched at the event,” said the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), one of the organising partner of the event.

Keeping pace with the trend for eco-friendly vehicles, the expo also saw launches of 35 electric vehicles, while 15 concepts were also showcased. New participants included Chinese players such as Great Wall Motors and Haima Automobile along with Olectra.

The expo, however, missed the likes of Toyota, Honda, BMW, Audi and two-wheeler majors Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto and TVS Motor Co, which had stayed away from the show.

SIAM President Rajan Wadhera in a statement to the press said, “Auto shows globally have evolved and transformed from being mere static displays to providing a unique and enriching experience for every segment of the society at large. Auto Expo – The Motor Show 2020 saw a great response with an overall footfall of 6.08 lakh.”
