New Delhi: GMR-led Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) on Friday launched doorstep baggage pick-up and drop service for passengers flying to and from Delhi Airport. 

The facility has been officially launched at Terminal 3 after successfully completing the trial. The facility has been launched in collaboration with Bengaluru-based company, ‘CarterX'. DIAL’s aim to launch the service is to provide world-class experience to its passengers. 

To avail the service, a passenger need to visit CarterX website or app or counters at Delhi Airport. Residents of Delhi-NCR can avail the facility. 

Booking facility would soon be available on Delhi Airport website -www.newdelhiairport.in. The bags booked would then be secured  in separate tamper-resistant sealable bags, which are marked and bar coded so that they can be identified easily. 

When passengers arrive at the airport they can collect their bags at the Departure forecourt area and proceed for check-in. 

Similarly, those arriving at the Delhi airport can book the service online or they can go to the baggage pick-up and drop counter which are located in meeters and greeters area of Terminal 3 arrival.

The baggage will then be delivered to locations in Delhi/NCR region, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. 

The baggage are insured by the service provider agency. 

Speaking to Hindustan Times, DIAL spokesperson said that the facility allows the passengers to travel hassle free to and from Delhi Airport without worrying about their luggage. 

Passengers who wish to avail the service will have to provide the date on which they want to avail the service, flight details, delivery location, etc. After the payment is done, the baggage would be brought to arrival/departure area. The passenger can also track their baggage in transit on phone/tablet. 

The service would soon be extended to Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
