New Delhi: The Met Department has forecastesd thunderstorm accompanied with lightning in Delhi on Wednesday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) recorded moderate fog in isolated parts of Delhi.

Visibility at 5 am was 500 meters in Palam area with the minimum temperature settling at 9 degrees Celsius. 

The IMD predicted thunderstorm with lightning at isolated places over Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Western Uttar Pradesh in the next three days. 

According to System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) on Monday stood at 303 which falls in the 'very poor' category. Major pollutants such as PM 2.5 and PM 10 in the city stood at 123 and 234, respectively. 

SAFAR advised sensitive group of people having health issues to stay indoors and avoid all physical and outdoor activities. It has also suggested to do wet mopping for removing dust from homes instead of vacuum cleaning.
