Noida: Commuters faced huge inconvenience on Monday morning as the road leading to Expressway from Sector 100 in Noida was jammed by maids and sweepers.
Maids and sanitation workers, who have been working at societies like Lotus Boulevard and others in Sector 100, took to road in the morning hours protesting against a road mishap.
They said that a washer man's son lost his life while he was crossing the road in the sector. To protest it, they gathered at the road. They put blocks of stone on the road blocking traffic at the road.
It was causing inconvenience to commuters as the road was blocked and they were forced to take other roads to go to their offices.
The protesters demanded that the government should build a foot over bridge for safe passage of pedestrians. They argued that if it was constructed, the road mishap could have been avoided and pedestrians would be safe while crossing the road.
