35 couples enter into wedlock in a group marriage

New Delhi: In a ceremony organised by Lions Club in collaboration with Asahay Jan Samiti and IP Extension Group Housing Society, 35 couples entered into wedlock. The group marriage was attended by area councilor, Aparna Goel, and many other social dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, the councillor termed it (arranging marriage on charity) a noble cause. She said everyone should come forward to contribute as per his or her capacity to this mission.

She further said that many parents can not afford to marry off their daughters. Hence, such group marriage functions are a great help to them.

All the brides and grooms were immaculately dressed in traditional wedding costumes. While the brides wore red lehngas for the occasion, the grooms were in sherwani or achkan.

Some essentially household items like utensils, gas stove, Almira etc. were gifted to each couple.

Representatives of Lions Club of Delhi were present on this occasion.
