CM Kejriwal distributes portfolios, retains all six cabinet ministers

New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal allocated portfolios to his cabinet ministers on Monday. He retained all the six ministers in his cabinet from his previous term. However, some of them would be heading departments other than they had during their last tenure.

Satyender Jain, who was earlier in charge of Home, Health, Public Works Department, Power, Industries, Urban Development, Irrigation and Flood Control etc., was handed the crucial Water Department. The department was under Kejriwal in the last tenure.

Gopal Rai has been given the Environment Department while Rajendra Pal Gautam will handle the Women and Child Development Department. In the previous term, Environment was being handled by Imran Husain.

Rajendra Pal Gautam has been allocated Women and Child Development Department. Earlier, Gautam was heading ministries of Social Welfare, SC and ST cooperative and Gurudwara Elections.

Manish Sisodia, who is also the deputy chief minister, will retain all the ministries he looked after in the previous government. He looks after as many as 11 departments – Finance, Education, Tourism, Planning, Land and Building, Vigilance, Services, Women and Child Affairs, Art, Culture and Language.

Kailash Gahlot retained Transport, Revenue, Law and Justice, Legislative Affairs, Information and Technology, and Administrative Reforms departments.

Imran Hussain will be heading Food and Supply and the Elections departments.

An AAP leader said, “Portfolios of the Delhi Cabinet have been decided by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal himself.”
