IP Extension witnesses three cases of theft in a week

New Delhi: It seems as though thieves and goons, of late, have a field day in East Delhi. In the last week, three incidents of theft have taken place in IP Extension.

On February 11, a battery of Alto car was stolen. The same theft took place the following day.

On February 14, a school teacher complained that thieves snatched her purse while she was on her way to school.

Chairperson of AVB School, Pankaj Verma, said, “The incident happened right in front of the school where the staff park their vehicles.”

Annoyed by the increasing cases of theft in the area, women have been demanding stringent action from the administration.

“During elections, security in the area was beefed up. Now, since the elections are over, no one is concerned about the security in the area. We went to the police station, but the officers there were declined to acce[t a snatching complaint. Instead they insisted on a missing complaint,” added Verma.
