New Delhi: Delhi Food and Civil Supplies Minister on Tuesday given a go-ahead to the doorstep delivery scheme. In a meeting with officers of the department on Tuesday, he called for the implementation of the scheme without further delay.
According to a statement of the Delhi government, said the Commissioner of Food and Supplies informed the minister that an action plan was underway for the project.
"The minister directed the Commissioner Food and Supplies to ensure that there is no further delay in implementation of the scheme that will go a long way in helping the poor and needy to obtain their ration under National Food Security Act, 2013, at their doorstep," the statement read.
Hussain reiterated the AAP Government's commitment to streamline the system of distribution of food grains in Delhi to bring transparency in the public distribution system.
Doorstep delivery of ration is one of the key priorities of the Delhi government.
