Greater Noida: Two residents (tenants) of Gaur City's 10th Avenue were arrested on Tuesday by the police for duping banks of crores of rupees through credit cards acquired with forged Voter IDs and PAN cards.
The accused were identified as Raja Saxena from Ganganagar in Rajasthan and Kautilya Sharma from Hathras. They were arrested near Gaur Chowk on Tuesday night by a team from special task force (STF) and Bisrakh police station.
The duo lived on the second floor of G-tower in the 10th Avenue and have been jailed several times in various cases of fraud in the past.
As per the police, an electronic data of 25,000 citizens including their phone numbers, Aadhaar and PAN details along with a separate list of Aadhaar and PAN details of another 6,000 people were recovered from the two accused.
During the interception, the police team also seized 29 fake Aadhaar cards, 10 fake PAN cards, 19 credit cards, eight mobile phones, one Voter ID, 19 salary slips from different companies and 11 diaries.
This was not the first crime committed by the duo. In 2013, they were jailed for duping a personal assistant of the Chhattisgarh chief minister. Similarly, in 2016, they were again sent to jail in a fraud case by Bajaj Finance service.
The residents had no clue about the duo staying the society premises. Talking to CitySpidey, a resident of 10th Avenue said that he had seen the two men but they interacted with none from the society and were usually seen keeping to their business.
Another resident was shocked that the two were hardcore criminals and stayed in the same compound.
