UPPCB asks authority's official to remove waste near Grand Ajnara Heritage

Noida: In a fresh reminder, Dr AK Singh, regional officer with  Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) asked the concerned officer of Noida Industrial Development Authority to comply with the order of National Green Tribunal (NGT).

In December 2019, the NGT had ordered the authority to remove the construction and demolition waste lying at plot, originally earmarked for development of a green belt, between North Eye and Grand Ajnara Heritage, highrises in Sector 74, Noida.

Yogesh Kumar, a resident of Grand Ajnara Heritage had moved a complaint against the debris lying on the plot following which the order came. It stated that this has been causing air pollution in the area. To solve this, the concerned officer was ordered to remove the waste and develop a green belt.

But the officer concerned is yet to act in compliance with the order. Considering this as a case of delay, the complaint was filed with the pollution control board.

The board wrote to senior manager with work circle 6, Noida Industrial Development Authority, to remind that this work should be done as per the order. It said that the officer has to act as per the order.
