Greater Noida: Residents of Omaxe Palm Greens, a highrise in Greater Noida had to face as the society management, allegedly discontinued maintenance services on Monday, which resulted disruption in water supply and inconvenience to residents at the society.

The services of security guards as well as sanitation staff were also discontinued. The residents were affected till 3 pm. During this period, the residents kept on asking the builder to resume services at the society. The maintenance services were only resumed after 6 hours.

The residents alleged that the builder discontinued the services after they complained about incidents of thefts within the society. Notably, thefts worth lakhs of rupees happened at five flats on Saturday. On the other hand, the thieves also made unsuccessful attempts at two other flats.

“After the thefts, the residents had held agitations against the builder. The police had reached the spot and pacified the people. The residents said that after their complaint, the police had taken the owner of the security agency and estate manager into custody,” said a resident on condition anonymity. 

People alleged that the builder discontinued the services to put pressure on the residents to withdraw their complaint from police. 

Meanwhile, during the six hours of complete closure of maintenance services, people lived in fear in fear as there was no one deployed at the gate to secure them. 

The situation was such that unidentified persons were seen confidently moving inside and outside of the society. 

“Scattered garbage all over has become a nuisance as there was no one to pick it up. We are paying a maintenance charge of Rs 2.16 per square meter and still not getting proper services,” said another resident.
