GNIDA flags off five electric vehicles

Greater Noida: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority on Thursday flagged off five electric vehicles under their clean and green energy initiative.

The authority has rented the vehicles from the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a government of India enterprise, for a period of five years.

To charge the vehicles, two charging stations have also been installed on the premises of the GNIDA office.

Talking to CitySpidey on the dynamics of the car, a senior official said, “The car takes approximately six to eight hours to fully charge after which they can cover a distance of 100 kilometers.”

He added that to increase the efficiency, the authority has built a fast charge station through which the vehicles can be charged in 90 minutes.

The authority plans to add more electric cars to its fleet in the near future. The success of this initiative will help us to analyze what more can be done to save energy and the environment, the senior official added.
