Noida: Shaheed Smarak Sanstha will celebrate annual wreath laying ceremony on Saturday, February 22, at Shaheed Smarak in Sector 37, Noida. Admiral Karambir Singh, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, Chief of Naval Staff, has been invited as the chief guest for the ceremony. He will pay homage to brave soldiers of Indian Army. 

GOC, Delhi Area, representatives of Indian Army and Air force, next of kin of 38 gallant martyrs, civil dignitaries, IAS and IPS officers, defence personnel, veterans, Jayoti Rana, Principal and students of Army Public School, Noida, Rayan School, Col Mohender Singh, Chairman AVI, Col IP Singh, Chairman AVCC; Brig Shashi Vaid, Chairman AVRWA, Gp Captain V Dayal, President JVCC, AVM Pradeep Kumar, Chairman JVSAS and common citizens will also pay homage to the soldiers.

The function will be carried out with military precision with tri service guard, buglers and Naval band in attendance. Choir group of Army Public School, Noida, will sing patriotic songs. 

The chief guest will unveil the model of INS Chennai, a P-15A Guided Missile Destroyer donated by Indian Navy. He will distribute gifts to next of kin of martyrs. After signing the visitor book, ‘Souvenir 2020’ will be released by the chief guest and will address the gathering in Army Public school grounds. During tea break, the chief guest will interact with the gathering and Naval Band will play latest marshal tunes.

Shaheed Smarak is an iconic landmark that no visitor can miss. It is situated on the Shaheed Smarak Marg, opposite Army Public School, Sector 37, Noida. Vintage AD guns 40 mm L 60, are displayed at the entrance, Naval Surface-to-Air missiles have been installed at the South Eastern end of the Smarak Park and ISKRA Jet Trainer aircraft of Polish origin is installed at South Western corner of the Memorial.
