Noida: In an attempt to manage the vehicular influx, the traffic police put concrete blocks to temporarily create barricading. But they miss a point that the barricading not only restrict vehicular movement but also affect the pedestrians.
Talking to CitySpidey, Neha, who commutes to her office at Sector 137, Noida, said that a blockade was made recently near the intersection of Advant Navis Business Park. It was made in such a manner that it left no place for the pedestrian to walk or cross the road.
Neha shared that while her male colleagues jump over the blocks, the females face a lot of difficulty in reaching to their offices. She said that they prefer to walk extra stretch which is also exhausting.
CitySpidey spoke to many regular visitors of the area and found that most of them are facing the problem with the new arrangement.
Supra, a management professional said, “The people who use public transport face more problems. The auto-rickshaw drivers drop them on opposite side of the road as they line up there. Due to the new diversion, the pedestrians will have to either jump over the blocks or take an extra walk to reach offices.”
There has been a significant rise in the number of jaywalkers as there is no crossing at the intersection in the area. Sushant, whose office is located at one of the buildings near the intersection said, “The problem is not just with the walkers, the diversion has actually created more traffic in the area as drivers queue up for U-turn.”
