New Delhi: Sports Day was observed by Guru Harkrishan Public school, Valmiki Marg, Hargobind Enclave. The event is an annual feature of the school.
In the day-long activities, students of the school participated in kho-kho, long run, hurdle race and many other sports disciplines. Dr Anil Goel, Deepak Malhotra, members of the standing committee of the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) were present on the occasion.
Sandeep Kapoor distributed awards among the winners. A total of 53 students participated in various sports activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Kapoor said, “We should encourage the students to cultivate sports skills. Every school must have outdoor sports, it will be helpful in realising the physical and mental health of students.
Dr Anil Goel said, "We feel happy to see children participate enthusiastically in sports activity, this is a good sign for PM's Project of "Khelo India".
