Quite an eventful day at Shipra Krishna Vista...

There was a lot happening at Shipra Krishna Vista on Sunday.

First, the Indirapuram society inaugurated its first plant nursery. The nursery, named Nanhi Chhaan, was inaugurated by Sanjeev Kumar, horticulture inspector of GDA. Several flower pots were placed and 250 saplings of various varieties were planted at the inauguration. Despite the morning's drizzle, about thirty residents along with board members of the AOA participated in the event and planted 25 Ashoka tree-saplings in the society.

The Shipra Krishna Vista AOA also organised its first Chai Pe Charcha, a platform for general discussion and communication between the AOA and the residents of the society. In its first session, the AOA in coordination with Posh Foundation, an animal welfare NGO based in Ghaziabad, discussed the issue of stray dogs in residential societies. Deepti Chaudhry from the NGO threw some light on animal welfare and discussed various ways of dealing with stray dogs.

She encouraged residents to tackle the problem with a positive mindset. According to Chaudhry, allocation of proper feeding points within the society, sterilisation, vaccination and reflective collars, were simple solutions to most of the problems.
