Spring Festival showcasing wide variety of flowers turns out a big draw

 The second day of the ongoing spring festival at Noida Stadium (Sector 21A) was a big draw with visitors from across city thronging the venue to have glimpse of the wide range of beautiful flowers on display. 

Monhan Singh, a visitor said the festival is a treat to the eyes with beautiful and colourful flowers decked up aesthetically. He said, ''I wish to have such a festival throughout the year as it helps release stress and make one feel a fresh.'' 

The visitors to the festival were seen picking up plants of their choice at temporary nursery stalls as growers of flowers plants and nature lovers, especially those who have interest in gardening from across Delhi NCR. They have brought a wide variety of plant species and flowers for the exhibition cum sale. 

Participants from institutional to individual categories have worked hard to exhibit their talent in gardening. They have also preserved plants of rare variety which are on the verge of extinction. 

Adobe Systems, a private software company has preserved purple petunia flower, which, according to the company representative, is on the verge of extinction. With a determination to sustain it, the company has been able to preserve it in the past four years. 

Tarun Dutt, senior site operation manager of Adobe Systems says that the purple petunia flower is now a rare variety. It is very difficult to find this variety especially of purple colour. But we have been preserving it at our site. 

Another participant has brought along hydroponic system, a kind of technology that helps grow vegetable plants without soil. A representative of the company explained the process to grow it.
