Ghaziabad: After the northeastern parts of Delhi coming in the grip of violence over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), police and district administration of Ghaziabad intensified their vigil. The police have increased security cover on the border with Delhi. 

Late on Monday night, a small unruly crowd tried to enter Ghaziabad. However, they were chased away by the police. 

Ghaziabad SSP Kalanidhi Naithani said while the situation was peaceful in the city, security at border areas has been beefed up to prevent any untoward incident.

Officials said that a special team is being constituted to keep an eye on suspicious persons. Besides, the police is  keeping a vigil on social media to contain spreading of inflammatory posts or fake news.
 
Meanwhile, after a petrol pump was set ablaze in Bhajanpura on Monday, oil companies have asked petrol pump owners to stay cautious. The pumps are on alert and have also increased the number of security guards. 

Owner of a pump station at Mohan Nagar said he received a call from the company asking them to stay alert and keep an eye on the customers. He said that he conveyed the same to his staff.

Petrol pumps at Delhi-UP border have been asked to stay extra cautious in order to avert any untoward incident.
