Noida: Commuters in the city, you no longer need to ply on the dark stretch between Sector 76 and 77. The Noida Industrial Development Authority (NIDA) is all set to illuminate the dark stretch by mounting LED bulbs on poles.
According to an official of the authority, the work for mounting lights on these poles is likely to begin in a couple of days as the blind procurement was completed and made available to the agency carrying out the work.
The official said that the work of mounting LED bulbs was currently in progress between Sectors 71 and 76 metro stations. Once it is completed, the agency will start work on the stretch between Sectors 76 and 77.
Devendra Singh, a resident of Sector 78, “The stretch from Sector 76 to Sector 77, towards Mahagun Moderne, a high rise in Sector 78, Noida, currently looks scary especially at night. Citizens residing in nearby high rises feel unsafe while walking through the road at night. But this problem would be solved once the authority mount lights on poles.
Singh has consistently been in touch with the concerned officials and following it up with them too. He said that officials assured that the entire roads in Sector 7X will be illuminated within a expected date of ten days.
He said that he would like to thank local MLA Pankaj Singh for his intervention after which the work was expedited.
He informed that lights have already been mounted on poles along the roads in Sector 77, Sector 117, Sector 120 and also on road passing by Lord Hanuman Murti in the localities.
