GB Nagar: The district administration of Gautam Budh Nagar has ordered all wine and liquor shops located within three km from Delhi to remain closed on Wednesday.
The decision has been taken in view of the ongoing violence in northeast Delhi between pro- and anti-CAA protesters which resulted in the death of 20 people.
BN Singh, ditrict magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar, issued an order which read, “In view of the violence in Delhi, all liquor shops will remain closed in Sectors 20, 24 and 39 of Gautam Budh Nagar.”
The order also said, "All wine shops, model shops, country-made liquor shops, wholesale licensed liquor shops and cannabis shops within three km of the Delhi border to remain closed on Wednesday."
Around 190 people have been injured while 20 have died in the violence in Northeast Delhi in the past two days.
