From hopeless to hopeful: Bhumi Pujan at Amrapali Silicon City

Noida: Homebuyers of incomplete Amrapali’s Silicon City in Sector 76 see a ray of hope after the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) appointed Ramji Das Dhall and constructions to complete phase 1 of the project within a year.

The contractor’s assurance came at a puja ceremony organised by it at Amrapali Silicon City on Wednesday.

Silicon City has 10,000 people living in 2,152 flats in phase 1 of the township. The contractor will complete 312 unfinished units along with the infrastructure in a period of a year.

The booking of units in the township commenced in 2010 and the first family moved to the township in 2014.

Talking to CitySpidey, Neeraj Mishra, president of the Silicon City Welfare Association said, “It is a big day for us. From hopeless homeless, we are today hopeful.”

He called it a tough journey from moving from the high court to the Supreme court. With the involvement of the NBCC, finally, they are getting a bidder who promises to give them back what they have shelled out from their hard-earned money.

Despite such a large population living in the township, there are no fire-fighters, DG set backup and proper parking area for the residents.

“The clubhouse hardly accommodates a bunch of people,” rued Mishra while talking to this reporter. He hoped all of these pending works will be completed by the contractor.

The phase-2 of the project which has six towers with 900 unfinished flats is also expected to be functional in a span of two years.
