Ghaziabad: Landcraft Developers is organising its seventh edition of flower show from Friday at Golflinks Society in Ghaziabad. The show will be a three-day affair starting from February 28 and will conclude on March 1.
The organisers told CitySpidey that the main attraction of the event will be different types of gardening which residents of highrises can do.
"In the flat culture, the residents get limited scope to play with horticulture. Keeping this in mind, we have chosen gardening as the theme of this year's show. We will showcase different kinds of gardening that could be done in flats," said Rakesh Goyal, director at Landcraft.
Goyal said that the visitors will see and learn about different types of gardening like kitchen garden, vertical garden, landscaping, bonsai, hanging basket etc. He also informed that the event will see more than 2,500 species of flowers and plants.
Besides, an oxygen lounge, shortly pronounced as "oxylounge" by the organisers, will be created at the event venue.
"The purpose is to promote plants that can battle air pollution. The scarcity of pure air due to rising pollution has become one of the biggest crises for people living in metropolitan cities. Through this oxylounge, we will showcase the species of plants that have a potential to purify the air around it and can be kept indoor as well," Goyal explained.
He said that the plants carrying medicinal properties will also be on display. "There are plants and herbs such as Tulsi and many others which have medicinal properties. We will put them all on display. These forgotten herbs that keep residents healthy are available just at your arms length at the time of need," he added.
Besides, the event will have a contest where participants can enroll with their unique idea of gardening and can win prizes, the organisers informed.
On the sidelines of the event, a food fest will also be organised where visitors can relish scrumptious street foods. Besides, mehandi, tattoo and rangoli competitions are also kept in the event for entertainment of the visitors.
