Greater Noida: Penalties worth Rs 53 lakh was imposed on 33 establishments for displaying hoardings on public property without the approval of the authority.
The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority ( GNIDA), from February 7 to 18, served penalty notices to 33 violators, including 11 reputed schools of the city. These unauthorised hoardings ran counter to the beautification drive, the authority alleged.
The schools which were penalised in this case include Shri Ram Global School in Techzone-7 (2 lakh), GD Goenka International school (1 lakh), Florence International School in Sector 3 (1 lakh), Aster Public School (3 lakh), The Wisdom Tree School in Sector 16B (1 lakh), Delhi World Public School (1 lakh), JM International School in Techzone 4 (2 lakh), Bloom International School in Techzone-7 (2 lakh), Ryan International School in Techzone-4 (3 lakh), Gagan Public School in Sector 4 (1 lakh), BLS World School in Sector 16 (1 lakh).
The total amount levied in penalties stands Rs 18 lakh. The highest penalty of Rs four lakh each has been imposed on ATS Homekraft Nobility and Gulshan Bellina.
The minimum penalty amount was of Rs one lakh.
Each violator will be served with a recovery certificate for failing to deposit the penalty amount.
