Gurugram: Residents of Vatika India Next, located in Sector 83, Gurugram, have expressed their concerns over the construction of school in their vicinity as they feel the proposed access route would get congested and affect their lives once the school becomes operational.
The residents have written a letter to department of town and country planning on Tuesday expressing their concern on the same and demanded the suspension of construction work till the time an alternate route is provided.
In their complaint, the residents pointed out that the area, where the construction is going on, was a residential plot as per the initial builder-buyers agreement, however, recently they came to know that the use of land has been converted to commercial.
The major cause of worry among the residents was that the internal lane of K-6 street would get congested once the school gets operational. They feared that the parking of school buses, staff vehicles would not only add to the traffic problem but would also pose serious threat to their lives.
“We have no problem with the school coming in our vicinity as it is for our benefit. However, we are concerned over the access route to this school which is given through street of K-6 instead of 24 meter road by the builder which is in the violation of building norms,” said Amit Kumar, a resident of the society.
They further claimed that the heavy commercial vehicle movement has increased these days in the vicinity making it difficult for them to step outside their home. They said that they have also reached out to the builder on the same but nothing has been done to resolve their concern.
“The width of the internal road is very less and it won’t be able to withstand the movement of heavy vehicles once the school become operational. We have met with the DTP on the matter and explained our concern. We demanded an alternate access route for school,” said Lokesh Yadav, General Secretary, RWA K block.
Meanwhile, CitySpidey tried reaching out to the DTP on the matter for comment but he remained incommunicado till the time story was filed.
