New Delhi: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Thursday carried out a massive anti-encroachment drive in Mayur Vihar Phase III area of East Delhi.
People, living in the area, have been complaining about the huge traffic congestion which happened on regular basis due to vendors operating on the main road. Two weeks ago, CitySpidey also reported about the issue of encroachment in the area.
The residents and RWA were continuously complaining about this issue. During peak hour, the situation worsens. People used to take more than half hour to cover 3-km stretch of road in the area.
A police complaint was also lodged regarding the frequent congestion. On Thursday morning, DDA with the help of police carried out an anti-encroachment drive to clean the road.
Although the vendors resisted, the officials from DDA went ahead to clear the encroachment.
