Ghaziabad: The department of women welfare in Ghaziabad has come up with a unique idea to celebrate International Women's Day this year. To mark this occasion, the department has decided to start a contest where entries would be selfies with daughter.
The department will honour the parents who will send best selfies clicked with their daughters. The parents will have to send selfie on the email ID of the department.
The department told that the motive behind this contest is to end the difference which parents make between sons and daughters.
“There are still many parents out there who behave differently with their daughters than their sons. The contest is aimed to improve this situation. Through the contest, we aim to sensitise parents to give equal treatment to their children irrespective of the gender,” told district probation officer, Vikas Chandra.
Speaking about the contest, Chandra informed that three winners will be selected and ranked on the basis of the quality of the photographs. “The best selfie will be awarded first prize and all the winners will be awarded certificates and medals will be given to the daughters,” he said.
