Some newly built societies in Noida Extension have organised a cricket tournament in an effort to foster communication and give residents an opportunity to know not just their neighbours, but also those living in adjoining societies.
Talks regarding participation of residents from Gaur Grandeur, Amrapali Platinum, Amrapali Zodiac, Eldeco Edge, RG Residency, Homes 121, Prateek Laurel and societies in Sector 122 are under way. The tournament will be held on August 13, 14 and 15.
Sandeep Singh, a resident of Prateek Laurel, told City Spidey, “Thousands of people have started living in these societies, but they don't know each other. The tournament will provide them with a platform to introduce themselves to their neighbours. A vacant plot beside Gaur Grandeur has been finalised as the venue.”
Shashank Kumar, the coordinator of the tournament, said, “Players representing societies such as RG Residency, Gaur Grandeur, Amrapali Zodiac, Homes 121 and Eldeco Edge have already confirmed their participation.”
He added, “I have been regularly meeting sports enthusiasts from these sectors. The idea behind organising this cricket tournament is to foster interaction among residents.”
