New Delhi: Rain and hail lashed many parts of Delhi-NCR on Saturday after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted moderately cloudy skies, strong surface winds along with very light rain and hail at isolated places.
The Safdarjung Observatory recorded 18.5 mm of rain throughout the day. The maximum temperature on Saturday was 27.3 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was 16.2 4 degrees above normal.
Strong winds had forced as many as 18 flights bound for Delhi to be diverted to Lucknow, Amritsar, Ahmedabad and Jaipur.
Partly cloudy sky with a possibility of light rain or drizzle is expected on Sunday. The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 25 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will be around 14 degrees Celsius, IMD said.
