Greater Noida (west): Cases of theft are adding to the rising crime graph in the city. The latest case of crime that took place at 7 pm on Saturday is the looting of a bag from a car parked outside the market of Supertech EcoVillage 1 in Bisrakh area.
Arobindo Banerjee, a resident of Ace City in Greater Noida West, parked his car (white Swift Dzire) outside the market. When he returned to his car after buying some household items, he was in for a shock.
“I returned in less than seven minutes,” said Banerjee while speaking to Cityspidey. “But found the car’s glass smashed and a brown bag containing some important documents was taken away.”
As regards the content of the bag, he disclosed that there was a folder in it with original registration certificate of the car, pollution certificate, checkbooks and passbooks of two banks, two Aadhaar cards and other important documents.
The parking of the market has no CCTV camera, but security guards can be seen around. But because of the heavy Saturday evening downpour the guards had moved into the market for cover.
As Banerjee raised an alarm about the theft all shopkeepers of the market gathered at the parking area and summoned the security in-charge. The shopkeepers told the security that if such incidents keep recurring, they will end up losing business as no one would visit the market.
Lifting of valuables from inside cars after smashing windowpanes has become a latest trend in the city where the rate of crime is increasing with every passing week.
A complaint about the theft has been registered with the Bisrakh police station.
