New Delhi: The East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) has selected 2,000 houses for installation of mobile tower in East Delhi.
The move will provide a better network and increase revenue of the EDMC. The corporation has invited tenders and bids from companies to install mobile tower on roof of the houses.
Several areas of East Delhi are highly congested with network issue. Calls of people often drop due to shortage of mobile tower.
The EDMC has prepared a scheme to install mobile tower on the roof of 2,000 houses except unauthorised colonies.
Land and houses are selected for the scheme. A survey was also conducted for the same.
Chairman of EDMC standing committee, Sandeep Kapoor, informed that installation of mobile tower will resolve the network issue and help the EDMC earn revenue.
“We can earn a minimum of one lakh rupees from installation from companies. We will also monitor the private buildings where unauthorised towers are installed. We have invited authorised mobile companies to remove unauthorised towers from the area,” he said.
