After traffic study by SPA, new parking plan on anvil in Dwarka

Dwarka: A new parking management plan will be implemented in Dwarka to get rid of huge traffic jams which have affected commuters for a long time. 

Before implementing the plan, a study of traffic in all intersections and market areas was done by School of Planning and Architecture (SPA). 

On the basis of the study report, three on-street parking facilities will be made at the most crowded areas. On the other hand, four off-street parking facilities will be made in other areas.

The parking charges will be Rs 20 and Rs 10 per hour for cars and bikes respectively. For the parking plan, the study was conducted at Apoorva Chowk, Ramphal Chowk and sectors 9, 12, 19, 6 and 5. 

In the study, most crowded areas were identified as Ramphal Chowk in Sector 7, the areas near RD Rajpal Public School in Sector 9 and the areas around Vardhaman Mall in Sector 19.

The plan for on-street parking is for crowded areas. The off-street parking is planned at Mall Road in Sector 6, Central Road at Sector 5, near Akash Institute in Sector 11 and Pocket 7 road in Sector 12.

The charges will be a little higher than normal parking at the on-street and off-street parking.
