EDMC holds meeting with area councillors to discuss civic issues

New Delhi: The East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) held an important meeting on Monday to discuss various civic issues of the area. All the area councillors and social representatives were present in the meeting. 

Some long pending issues such as unauthorised parking, garbage recycling, security and sanitation were discussed. 

Sandeep Kapoor, Chairmain of standing committee, EDMC, asked all the councillors about the progress of sanitation work in their areas. Cleaning of drainage before the arrival of monsoons, home materials lying on roads responsible for air pollution, waste management and Ghazipur landfill were also discussed. All the concerned authorities were asked to make proper plan for segregation of bio waste. 

Two weeks ago, MP Gautam Gambhir visited Ghazipur landfill and instructed the officials to reduce the height of landfill. 

Security is also one of the issues of the area which was discussed in the meeting. The chairman instructed all the officials to chop the branches of trees and shrubs so that sign boards and notice boards are visible.
