New Delhi: As the coronavirus outbreak was confirmed with 28 positive cases in India, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday informed the citizens about the government's preparedness.

He said, “Besides Safdurjung Hospital and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, 19 government hospitals and 6 private hospitals have also been developed to deal with coronavirus, if there is a need.”

Kejriwal said that if there is need, coronavirus testing lab will be set up at Lady Hardinge Hospital and also in Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital.

“We are also examining people who have not shown any symptoms. Because coronavirus symptoms show after 14 days,” he informed.

Moreover, he suggested people to avoid public gatherings and keep on washing hands through the day. He said that more than one lakh and 16 thousand people have been screened at the airport. Special emphasis has been given on travelers coming from countries affected by coronavirus.

He infused a sense of positivity by saying that the people of Delhi will defeat coronovirus as they did against Dengue.

Kejriwal also announced that he will not attend Holi celebrations in wake of the Delhi violence and coronavirus outbreak. On the availability of N-95 mask in the market, he said that there are enough available masks.

Addressing the parents who are worried over their school going children, he said that they will shut down schools if need be.
