Gurugram: Paytm employee found positive for coronavirus

Gurugram: A Paytm employee in Gurugram was confirmed infected with the novel coronavirus. The company has given this information by issuing a statement on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the company said that the employee had recently returned from Italy vacation. Italy is one of the countries which have been most affected by the coronavirus. The company said that the employee is being given appropriate treatment.

As a precautionary measure, the company has advised all its employees to work from home for the next few days while sanitisation is being done in the company's Gurugram unit.

In the statement, the company said, “One of our colleagues based out of Gurgaon office, who recently returned from Italy post a vacation has sadly been tested positive for coronavirus. He is receiving appropriate treatment and we are extending complete support to his family.”

“As a precautionary measure, we have suggested his team member to get health tests done immediately. We have also advised all our colleagues to work from home for a couple of days while we get our offices sanitised,” it stated.
The patient was admitted in Safardarjung Hospital, Delhi and recuperating from illness.

After the coronavirus case in Gurugram, there is a panic among the companies operating in Delhi-NCR. They have issued notification sensitising their employees about the precautionary steps to be taken to avoid the spread of disease.

With this case, the number of coronavirus cases in the country has risen to 29. According to the union health ministry, complete preparations have been made to deal with the situation and there is no need to panic in any way.

Gurugram district health department are also preparing for air borne infection isolation room in the Civil Hospital in Sector 10 to meet any kind of medical emergency. 

On Tuesday, the district administration has issued a health advisory to the residents on the precautionary measures to be taken in the wake of coronavirus threat and also issued helpline numbers, 0124-2322412 or 9911519296.
