Ghaziabad: Two residents from Indirapuram and Raj Nagar Extension localities of Ghaziabad district have been admitted to hospitals in Delhi under suspicion of being infected with coronavirus on Wednesday, informed the officials of health department. 

Indirapuram resident was admitted to isolation ward of Safdarjang Hospital while the Raj Nagar Extension resident was admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital in Delhi. The officials told that he was admitted to RML after he complained of fever on Wednesday.

The officials also told that both the residents had attended a birthday party in Agra where a positive case of coronavirus was reported. The residents have travelled back from Iran 15 days ago and were under observation of the health department.

Besides, the health department had sent two samples of residents from Indirapuram and Vaishali on Tuesday. The resident of Indirapuram was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital while the report of Vaishali resident is still awaited. 
The Indirapuram resident was suffering from cough and cold while no such symptoms were seen in Vaishali resident.

Till date, the health department has sent blood samples of nine persons suspected of being infected with coronavirus to Delhi. While the seven cases have been tested negative, reports of two cases are awaited.

The medical department has also launched a helpline 120-4186453 where people with symptoms and travel history can seek assistance. 

NK Gupta, Chief Medical Officer was reported telling that 152 people who travelled China between December and January are kept in isolation at their homes. He had also informed that ten persons have been quarantined.
