GB Nagar: The Noida-Greater Noida metro will provide free sanitary pads to women across their 21 metro stations from March 8. 

Apart, the Noida Metro Rail Coporation (NMRC), which manages and operates the Aqua Line, will designate two metro stations -Sector 76 in Noida and Pari Chowk in Greater Noida as 'pink stations'. 

An NMRC official said that the pink stations will have various facilities such as baby-feeding room, diaper-changing facilities and a vanity-cum-changing room.

The NMRC is also planning to have all women staff on these two pink stations except for the security personnel, a job outsourced to a private firm. 

Each metro station will have vending machines for sanitary pads. A commuter will have to take a token at the metro station for getting a sanitary pads from the vending machine. 

NMRC Managing Director Ritu Maheshwari is expected to inaugurate the two pink stations and the vending machine service on March 8, which is celebrated as the International Women's Day.
