Women honoured for their contribution to society

Gurugram: The Society for Upliftment and Development of Human beings by Action (SUDHA) celebrated the International Women’s Day at A-1 block of South City-2 on Sunday with great enthusiasm. On the occasion, members of the SUDHA felicitated around 24 women from various walks of life in recognition of their extraordinary contribution to society.

The women who were honoured are associated with social service, education, writing, literature, dance, music, art and sports.

Ritu Kataria was the chief guest for the occasion while Kiran Sharma was the guest of honour. Other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.

While felicitating the participants, GK Bhatnagar, president of SUDHA, made an appeal to the society to come forward for the overall development of women. “I am very happy to honour such great personalities and express our gratitude to the women for their contribution to our lives and society at large. This will also inspire young children studying in SUDHA's open school.”

At the event, children presented a cultural programme and articulated their views on the significance of the day.

The chief guest appreciated the work of the SUDHA for providing education to poor boys and girls.
