Noida:  As a precautionary measure, the apartment owners’ association (AOA) of Prateek Wisteria equipped its guards on entrance gates with non-contact thermometers to take the temperature of every person visiting the society.

Some 1,800 families live in the highrise of Noida's Sector 77.

Citing fever, cold and cough known to be the first visible symptoms of COVID-19, Archana Prasad, joint secretary Prateek Wisteria AOA, said the AoA had decided that every visitor including delivery executives and maids will have their temperature checked at the gate. In case they have fever, they will not be allowed to enter the society's premises.

Thermometers have been given to the guards at the three gates that the society has while a kit which includes a hand sanitizer and face mask has been provided to every guard.

Wisteria has 1,800 occupied flats, two clubs and 20 towers. Each tower has at least one guard. With a staff of over 200 house helps, the measure was necessary, said Prasad.

Coronavirus is a highly contagious virus that causes respiratory infection. It can transfer from person to person on their touch of common objects and droplets.
