New Delhi: Community people of Dwarka celebrated Holi with great enthusiasm. Although most of the RWAs and managements of the sub-city refrained from organising community gatherings to prevent spread of coronavirus, people in groups celebrated the occasion playing with colours.
However, some societies celebrated the festival as they have been doing every year. At Vinayak Apartments Sector 10, the entire society celebrated Holi together and shared photographs on WhatsApp groups of residents of Dwarka.
Vice-president of the society Rakesh Kalsi admitted that there was fear among people over corona. Yet they chose to celebrate the festive occasion for the love and harmony of the society.
According to Kalsi, this way they wanted to show that they were united to fight against any adversity.
“I am feeling good that we are one of those few societies in Dwarka which celebrated Holi like we used to every year. People enjoyed a lot," she said.
However, in most other societies, residents opted to celebrate the festival in groups. Radhika Apartments of Sector 14 is one of them.
President of the society Jaipal Singh said, "We didn't celebrate like we used to every year. It is a good initiative, I appreciate it.”
