Greater Noida: At a time when the entire world has some advice for the prevention of COVID-19, a team from Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association (NEFOWA) has prepared WhatsApp stickers to spread awareness about the pandemic.

Sumil Jalota, a member of NEFOWA said, “We have multiple groups on WhatsApp and Telegram and are connected with a large network. We decided to reach out to these active residents of the area in a different way. We thought that sending stickers with messages can help in spreading awareness.”

The stickers are not only being used by the NEFOWA members but general residents of Noida as well.

Brijesh Pal Singh, a resident of Sector 61 told that sending stickers was more convenient and less spamming. “People have now started taking offense about multiple messages about coronavirus. While all material carries the same message, the repetition is irking the group members,” Singh added.

The social media and platforms like WhatsApp have been flooded with videos, messages, government circulars, and what not. The large amount of information which is being shared now is forcing the users to skip the content.

Sagar Gupta, a resident of Spring Meadows society and creator of the NEFOWA stickers said, “In these times, making a poster is in vain as people will not download the image, and nobody wants to read long paragraphs on a texting App. So, we decided to make stickers with our logo and the text.”

It took Sagar a day to work on the eight stickers using a mobile phone App which are now being circulated widely on WhatsApp by the residents of Greater Noida West. The stickers carry the logo of NEFOWA with prevention instructions like ‘avoid shaking hands’, ‘say no to panic’, ‘ wash your hands frequently’, etc in white letters on black background.
