Coronavirus: Swimming pools in Noida, Greater Noida to remain shut till Apr 15

GB Nagar: To contain the spread of coronavirus, the district administration of Gautam Budh Nagar on Saturday ordered closure of swimming pools in sister cities of Noida and Greater Noida.

The order came a day after the state government announced closure of all schools and colleges in Uttar Pradesh as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

An order from the district administration read that as part of the ongoing precautionary measures against coronavirus, the administration has decided to close the operation of swimming pool in these cities.

Further, it stated that the pools in group housing societies, schools, colleges and hotels will remain closed till April 15.

Residents of the two cities applauded the administration’s order to control the epidemic. They said that such measures were the need of the hour.

Sudhir Sood, a vigilant resident of Noida, said such step by the administration would help to keep the virus under control to some extent.

“The administration should also ban organising parties and functions for time being where more than 100 participants are expected to gather,” said Sood.
