Noida: A white BMW driven by a resident of Paras Tierea, a highrise in Sector 137, was allegedly looted while he pulled over to relieve himself in the Phase 2 area of the city on Saturday

As per the police account, the man identified as Rishav Arora (28) stopped near Sector 90 to urinate when three bike-borne criminals held him at gunpoint and snatched his car. The incident took place some 200 meters from his society.

In his FIR, Arora said that he had left his society at 11:40 pm on Saturday for some work. Five minutes later, he stopped near Sector 90 and got out of his car.

While he was standing at the pavement an unidentified man pointed something (weapon) towards him while another man swiftly took to the driving seat and drove away the car bearing Himachal Pradesh number. The other two accomplices accompanied them on their motorcycle.

Arora works as a stockbroker and the BMW he was driving is registered in the name of his relative. A loan of Rs 40 lakh is pending on the car.

The police also said that when the incident occurred Arora was allegedly in an intoxicated state and couldn’t take down the motorcycle’s number in the dark.

As per Arora’s account, he had returned to his house from Delhi, where he had gone for a party, before leaving the society in the BMW.

Police, in its investigation till now, have found this loot as an insider's work and are considering all the angles to solve the case.

However, residents of Paras Tierea have a different version of the incident. A resident, on condition of anonymity, told this reporter that the news making the rounds in the society was that a stolen car came to Paras Tierea on Sunday morning, not looted from the Phase 2.

CitySpidey also tried to reach out to Arora, but all our calls went unanswered.

It may be recalled here that on January 6 this year, a 43-year-old resident of Gaur City 5th Avenue in Greater Noida West, Gaurav Chandel, was killed for allegedly resisting car robbery near Parthala Chowk.

Later, the Hapur police arrested Ashu gang members, Umesh and Ashu’s wife, in connection with the case on January 27. Chandel’s car, which was a week old when the incident occurred, was found abandoned in Ghaziabad by the police.
