Noida: Residents of Sector 52, a densely populated residential pocket in Noida, elected Ashok Kumar Sharma as President of Resident Welfare Association (RWA). He was elected unopposed. He would now hold the office of RWA for a period of two years. 

While speaking to CitySpidey, Sharma said that he would try to live up to the expectations of residents as far as betterment of residential pockets is concerned. 

He said, “First of all, I would complete all the works, which were being carried out by his immediate predecessor for betterment of the residential pocket. My focus would be to ensure high standard of sanitation by maintaining cleanliness, safety and security of all in the sector.” 

Sharma informed that Raghunath Singh was elected for the post of General Secretary. He won the election with high margin, he added. Besides, Saroj Tuli and Om Prakash Chauhan were elected for the post of Treasurer and Additional Treasurer respectively. 

BM Gupta, the returning officer told that three candidates were declared winners uncontested as his office received only three nominations, one from each residential Block – A, B and C in the sector. 

Free and fair election was conducted for electing candidates from residential Block D and E in which contest was among seven candidates, who had filed nominations. 

Finally, the returning officer came with a list of candidates to declare the result. It concluded with extending thanks to all the residents for showing their active participation in the election.
