Noida: MP Mahesh Sharma on Tuesday said that it is crucial time for all the Indians to fight against this pandemic of coronavirus till April 15.

A joint press conference was held by all the senior officials and people's representatives of Gautam Budh Nagar on COVID-19. It has been decided that a committee will be formed. 

The committee will be led by District Magistrate BN Singh and will have representatives from Police, Noida Authority, Greater Noida Authority (GNIDA) and Yamuna Authority (YEIDA). They will meet every alternative day or as per the need serves.

Sharma also said that the police department will keep an extra check on the hoarders who have been black marketing the essential supplies.

The DM mentioned that the administration will work to relax the gap between supply and demand. He said the district is fully equipped to deal with the situation and asked people not to panic. “We will do more than what is required,” Singh said.

Sharma further requested the people to not run behind buying hand sanitizers but rather practice good hygiene and wash hands with soap frequently. At present, the district has 70 beds and 200 kits for treatment.

The administration might include private hospitals in future and as per their need, Sharma said.

MP Mahesh Sharma, MLA Pankaj Singh, CP Noida Alok Singh, CMO Dr Anurag Bhargava, Director GIMS Brigadier Retired Dr RK Gupta, CEO Noida Authority Ritu Maheshwari, CEO GNIDA Narendra Bhooshan and CEO YEIDA Arun Vir Singh were present at the conference.
