Noida: The residents turned furious after a portion of basement collapsed at Gardenia Gateway, a highrise in Gardenia Gateway, Noida. They went ahead to lodge an FIR against the developer of the society shortly after the basement collapsed on Friday.
They have given a complaint in writing with Sector 49 police station demanding strict action against the developer.
According to members of Gardenia Gateway Social Welfare Association, the resident body of the society, the developer used sub-standard construction material while developing the basement one and basement two.
They informed that the developer was allegedly developing an illegal swimming pool on top of these basement. It is located besides a park and a residential tower of the society in Block C of the society. They told that they are afraid of their safety after the incident which happened on Friday.
According to an eyewitness, the staff and developer fled shortly after it collapsed. He said, “They are so selfish that they do not even bother to come on the incident site to see what damage it caused.”
