Noida: After the first positive case of coronavirus in Supertech Capetown, Sector 74, Noida, residents of the society confined themselves to their homes abiding by the rules set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On Thursday, Modi had announced ‘janata curfew’ to be observed on March 22 (today) as a preparatory exercise for social distancing which has been advised to check the spread of coronavirus outbreak. PM Modi asked people to stay indoors from 7 am to 9 pm.

As per the orders of the district administration of Gautam Budh Nagar, entry and exit gates of the society have temporarily been sealed from 10 am (March 21) to 7 am (March 23).

Residents had begun self-confinement from yesterday evening, almost 12 hours ahead of the actual time of 7 am (today). They clapped, played with ‘thalis’ and plates to encourage all those deployed to disinfect the society's areas.

Residents are also suggesting fellow residents to stay indoors during ‘janata curfew’. They said, “If anyone comes out, he/she would be asked to go back to their homes immediately.”
