Dwarka: In a crime against senior citizens, a septuagenarian lady was duped by three persons who took away her gold bangles with them on Friday. She is a resident of Dharam Vihar Apartments in Sector 10, Dwarka.

According to the husband of the victim, three persons in civil dress introduced themselves as police and asked his wife to keep her gold bangles in her purse. In this process, they changed her bangles with artificial bangles and put them back into her purse.

“She was going to buy bread at a shop at a nearby society. While she was walking down the lane, a person came to her and told her that he was from the police and his boss was standing nearby. There were two more persons standing at a distance in white dress. He asked her to keep her gold bangles in her purse as there was a security threat,” informed her husband.

“In between, two more persons came closer to her and helped her in taking off the bangles from the hand. After that, one of them took out a paper from his pocket and convinced her to wrap the bangles and put them in the purse. Meanwhile he touched her feet too and put the wrapped stuff in her purse,” he continued.

“After reaching home she told the story. I asked her to check the purse and we found that the bangles were changed. It seems that while touching the feet they changed the bangles and duped her. Then we dialled 100 number and made a complaint,” he concluded.

According to Vice President of Dharam Vihar Apartments, OP Dhyani, the incident happened around 10.30 am. He said that it was unfortunate and a matter of security concern in the area.
