Gurugram: With the upcoming monsoon season, the residents of Mapsko Casa Bella, a residential society in Sector 82, on Sunday planted as many as 500 saplings across the green belt.

Various varieties of trees and shrubs such as Neem, Peepal, Arjun, Pilkhan, Gulmohar, Champa, Kaner, Chameli etc were planted during the drive. The drive was joined by kids and senior citizens of the society along with neighbouring villages. They pledged to take care of the plants.

Dharamvir Singh, RWA president of Mapsko Casa Bella said, “We have planted saplings across the 750-meter-long green belt area which will be maintained by us. I am glad to see people coming forward and joining us in this noble cause. It is really important to keep our surroundings clean and green.”

This was part of the special plantation drive launched by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) and Gurujal – a water management project by the government in collaboration with various RWA and NGOs of the city.

Under which, MCG will distribute 80 thousand ornamental plant shrubs, medicinal plants, and indigenous trees to the various RWAs across the city on every Saturday and Sunday from June 27 till August 1.
