Noida: 83 people including Chief Medical Officer were found to have coronavirus positive in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Budh Nagar on Saturday.
The death toll has now reached 28 with five more deaths linked to coronavirus on Saturday, showed the official data.
With recovery of 105 patients during the 24 hours period, a total number of people who were discharged rose to 1,646. The district rate stands at 62.20 per cent, as per the UP's daily health bulletin.
As of now, there are 972 active cases in the district, the bulletin said.
At present, the district tally of Covid-19 cases stands at 2,646 which is highest for any district in the state.
Dr Deepak Ohri, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Gautam Budh Nagar tested positive for Covid-19. He has been taken to an isolation ward. In his absence, additional CMO Dr Nepal Singh will officiate the responsibilities.
