Dwarka: To help the community people and support the system in managing the coronavirus pandemic, the societies have started making isolation wards in their premises in Dwarka. The wards are mostly being created at the community halls or at similar spaces inside the society.
These places have equipment which are used to treat and support any Covid-19 positive non-critical patients needing isolation. According to the societies’ management, facilities like oxygen cylinders, oximeter, portable ventilators and other basic things were made available at such wards.
As per the DM South West, Rahul Singh, such facilities are being promoted by the community under the supervision of the local administration to strengthen the health infrastructure at community level with the efforts of people by involving them.
In an inauguration of one such Covid isolation ward at Neelanchal Apartments in Sector 4, he said, “Such initiatives are a huge support to the overloaded health care system in the state. In such wards, doctors from the health centres are attached and supervision is there by the local administration. People who are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms have to stay at home after being detected positive. For them, such facilities would be of great help. Earlier, they had to rush to hospitals in case of breathing problems or any other complications.”
In the sub-city, societies like Neelanchal Apartments in Sector 4, Welcome Group CGHS in Sector 3, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Apartments in Sector 14, Green Valley Apartments in Sector 22 have made such isolation wards, while at DJA (Delhi Journalist Association) CGHS in Sector 13, facilities like oxygen cylinders are available.
President of Federation of CGHS, Dwarka, Sudha Sinha said, “This is a support from the community for the community. I am happy and encouraged with the initiatives by CGHS. This is the need of the hour to support the system. We will be promoting such concepts with the help of administration to serve the society amid such pandemic.”
